The Hatchet: A Journal of Lizzie Borden & Victorian Studies

PearTree Press began publishing The Hatchet: A Journal of Lizzie Borden & Victorian Studies in 2004 and ceased publication  2014, spanning 30 issues. It was dedicated to publishing new works of fiction and non-fiction relating to the Borden murders of 1892, Fall River, Massachusetts, and Victorian America.

The Literary Hatchet

PearTree Press publishes The Literary Hatchet, a journal of contemporary short fiction, poetry, humor, interviews and reviews by established and emerging writers and artists from around the world. Subjects range from mystery, murder, macabre, horror, monsters, ghosts, and things that go bump in the night. Now published 3 times a year!

We accept submissions and pay all authors and artists for their work.
