The Hatchet: A Journal of Lizzie Borden & Victorian Studies

PearTree Press began publishing The Hatchet: A Journal of Lizzie Borden & Victorian Studies in 2004 and ceased publication  2014, spanning 30 issues. It was dedicated to publishing new works of fiction and non-fiction relating to the Borden murders of 1892, Fall River, Massachusetts, and Victorian America.

The Literary Hatchet

PearTree Press publishes The Literary Hatchet, a journal devoted to provocative fiction (short stories), poetry, and prose. We are interested in well-written but easy to read works in any genre (except erotica). Now published 3 times a year!

We accept submissions and pay all authors and artists for their work.
